The Northeast Pennsylvania Audubon Society is pleased to announce that it has awarded two camp scholarships for the summer of 2014 to three local residents.
Carol Phillips and her son Andrew of Moscow will attend the Family Camp at the National Audubon Society’s Hog Island camp in Maine, where they will participate in a variety of nature and environmental studies. Carol is active as a 4H leader and a Cub Scout leader, and Andrew is in 4H and the Cub Scouts, and enjoys math studies.

The second scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Bunnell of Honesdale, for a two week Leadership Camp in New Hampshire. Rebecca is a 9th grader at Honesdale High School and is active in chamber choir, cheerleading and the 2017 Class Development Club. She is an avid nature-lover with interests in fishing, hiking, birds and tree identification. Ms. Bunnell’s future plans are to study marine biology or ornithology. This scholarship was awarded in conjunction with the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
All funds for these and other scholarships are raised by our annual Audubon Art and Craft Festival. This year’s festival, featuring artists and artisans, wildlife shows, live ice sculpting, children’s activities and more, will be held on July 19th and 20th at Lake Wallenpaupack High School on Rt. 6, just south of Hawley, PA.
