Berry George Burcher was born on October 6, 1984, the son of Jack Burcher and Bonnie Beers of Dyberry Township, PA.
Berry drew inspiration from those he met and had a genuine interest in people and helping others. From an early age, Berry had a gift for music and loved playing guitar and spending time with family and friends. In honor of Berry and his love for his family, friends, and music the family is planning a celebration of his life at a date to be announced.
Berry also loved nature and thought birds were one of the most exciting and inspiring aspects of the natural world. When he was 12 years old, the Northeast PA Audubon Society selected Berry to receive a scholarship to attend Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine. He had a wonderful experience making friends, exploring nature, and enjoying the songs of birds.
In honor of this lasting influence and to help other young people experience nature as he did, Berry’s family invites those who wish to make a memorial donation to do so to the NEPA Audubon Society’s Berry Burcher Environmental Camp Scholarship Fund. Donations will go to the Hog Island Camp Scholarship Fund to benefit local youth in the community.
