SUMMER ENVIRONMENTAL FAMILY CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Family Camp Scholarship for Eligible Child and Adult
This year we are offering a full scholarship for one child, between the ages of 8-13, and a related adult to attend the family camp on Maine’s scenic Hog Island. The session’s program will take place fromJuly 9, 2023 to July 14, 2023.
Hog Island’s Family Camp provides a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy nature together. The pristine environment on Hog Island offers a wide variety of habitats for nature study. Campers cruise Muscongus Bay in search of seabirds and seals. They examine aquatic insects and amphibians in a freshwater pond, look for mushrooms and wildflowers in the forest, and search for fish and marine invertebrates along the intertidal zone. Evening programs include night hikes and stargazing. Each day begins with an optional early morning bird walk and ends with a family campfire program filled with songs, stories, and skits. For additional information visit http://hogisland.audubon.org
The camp is designed for families with children ages 8-13 (children must be in this age range at the time of the camp). The Audubon scholarship is for one child and one related adult (grandparents, aunts, and uncles are welcome). Either the adult or the child must be a resident of Lackawanna, Wayne, Susquehanna or northern Pike Counties. Experience an educational family vacation you will never forget.
This scholarship covers the costs of camp programs, lodging and meals. Scholarship recipients must arrange for transportation to and from the Audubon Dock in Bremen, ME at the start and finish of this session.
